From Ellen Peterson: Barnard Machinery Company - In 1874 a local boy of 18 named Stuart Hare married Priscilla Holdsworth, and went into business at Camden, Kan. Later, with George Randall, he organized the Barnard Machinery Company, and as its head, built some 400 flour mills in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, one of the first of which was erected on the Ponca Indian Reservation.
