Snowy Halloween marks first snowfall

Parts of Kansas, including the Chapman area, were blanketed with a light layer of snow that started the morning of Halloween, Oct. 31. The snow continued through much of the afternoon, but did not accumulate. Most of the snow melted quickly, though some remained on trees and grassy areas.
