A powerful thunderstorm hit Enterprise in the early morning hours of July 26, causing a power outage, broken tree limbs, and at least one pole barn to collapse.
City superintendent Paul Froelich said the storm came up suddenly at about 4 a.m., with no warning. Almost an inch of rain fell within 20 minutes, accompanied by high winds. Some areas of the city were without power from 4 a.m. until about 7:30 a.m., as city workers tackled the problems. Froelich said downed tree branches were to blame for most of the outage.
