Chapman Valley Manor plans for emergencies

Chapman Valley Manor hosted an emergency preparedness meeting Oct. 26 for emergency officials from the State of Kansas, Dickinson County and Chapman, in order to discuss scenarios and develop life saving plans in case of a fire or other types of emergencies. The tabletop exercise was in compliance with federal regulations for emergency preparedness for long term care facilities.

Included at the meeting were Erik Stewart, North Central Regional Coordinator for the Kansas Division of Emergency Management, Dickinson County EMS Director John Hultgren, Chapman interim fire chief Cecil Thrush, fire chief assistant Travis Burjes, city administrator John Dudte, city superintendent Bobby Kamm, and USD 473 transportation director Randy Heller. CVM officials participating in the exercise included administrator Pam Sheets, charge nurse Heather Myers, board member Cody Sparks, activity director Christy Loy, maintenance staff members Cary Gobber and Leslie Hansen, and Diana Irvine, transportation.
